Well, boy did these 12 weeks just fly by! Kudos to Chad for coming up with the 12-week challenge…what a great opportunity.
I always considered myself a healthy eater, but the 12-week challenge showed me that there is always room for improvement. It’s only after I kept a food diary that I realized where I can make improvements and where I was doing okay. I increased my protein intake and decreased my chocolate intake (this was the hardest part for me). At first, giving up my beloved chocolate was excruciating, but little by little, the craving diminished (I think last week’s conference call with Carl Ferro touched on this…our taste buds really to have the capacity for change). The craving is definitely still there, but I learned how to manage it…I allow myself a piece during the weekend and that keeps me satisfied for the week.
I love the changes I have noticed throughout the challenge. I feel more energetic, and I noticed the difference in how my body looks as well, which is a great confirmation that what I am doing works. That’s really the best encouragement to continue what I am doing once the challenge ends. Food and exercise are a big part of the challenge, but in the larger scheme of things, it really is about improving quality of life. And now who wants to quit that?
